Marvel Comics announced the Dexter comics in November 2012. They said that the series will be penned by Jeff Lindsay, the creator of the original Dexter series and will be illustrated by Dalibor Talajic. Talajic had previous collaborations with Marvel which includes works on Deadpool and Hit-Monkey. The first issue was supposed to be released on February 2013, prior to Showtime's final season of Dexter.However the comics were delayed for three months and finally released on June 2013. The comics had more of a resemblance to the novels of Jeff Lindsay than to the TV series.
